This ancient capitol of Scotland sits surrounded by the harsh, yet beautiful Scottish landscape. The city is unique for its well preserved architecture, with much of the elevated southern old town of Georgian design, with the north of Waverley Station is known as the Victorian Quarter. Holyrood Park and the imposing Arthur's Seat looks over the city, while the palace of the park's name-sake hosts the royal family occasionally throughout the year.
